English Apr 16, 2020

In the midst of the pandemic, the European Council adopted measures to help the most deprived citizens of the European Union. Ambassadors from the bloc's countries agreed with the amendments to the regulation of the fund to assist those most in need.

The decision will make it easier for member countries, partner organizations and other stakeholders to have access to the fund, known by the English acronym Fead, also to protect employees involved in distributing aid. About 13 million EU citizens benefit from the fund each year, says the European Council in a statement.
