A survey conducted by Deloitte in conjunction with the Times of India found that 82% of Indians plan to invest in cryptocurrencies.
Among the 1,800 respondents, 55.2% said they have already invested in cryptocurrencies and will continue to invest. Another 26.8% said they have not yet invested, but intend to invest once the government has regulated their use within the country.
About 10.3% said they have invested in cryptocurrencies but will avoid putting money back into this asset class anytime soon. The remaining 7.8% said they are against investing in cryptocurrencies.
When asked about their understanding of the cryptocurrency market, 48.5% of respondents said they would like to learn more, 39% said they understand assets very well, and 12.5% said they are unaware of the concept.
Regarding industry regulation, more than 62% want the government to issue clear guidelines, while 30% want measures to be taken to make the asset class more popular. On the other hand, 10% want crypto-assets banned.
