PayPal launched Checkout With Crypto, a service that allows its customers in the United States to pay cryptocurrency merchants, much like CapPay, which has been helping small merchants for years. The new function will arrive in the coming months.

The Checkout With Crypto service will allow those who have cryptocurrencies on the platform to spend with all PayPal merchants. Supported cryptocurrencies include Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum and Litecoin. The payments giant, however, will convert the cryptocurrency into fiat currency for the actual payment.

PayPal's move comes just a week after Tesla accepted Bitcoin as a means of payment for its cars - and not long after Tesla made a $ 1.5 billion investment in Bitcoin itself.

The adoption of cryptocurrencies by such large companies as PayPal and Tesla marks a significant turnaround, symbolizing a new era of social and technological inclusion. There is no doubt that it is now a matter of time for other companies in the market to give more importance to cryptocurrencies, either by their own will or by the need to remain competitive in order not to be left behind.
