Republican and Democratic congressmen resolved deadlocks that made it difficult to approve a $ 900 billion aid package for people and businesses affected by the covid-19 pandemic in the United States.

Among the planned measures are US $ 600 aid for a portion of Americans, subsidies for companies that were most affected by the restriction measures and financial aid for schools, health professionals and residents threatened with eviction.

The United States is the country hardest hit by covid-19 worldwide. Data from Johns Hopkins University show that there are more than 316,000 deaths from the disease and 17.6 million confirmed cases.

The worsening situation has caused some states, such as California, to re-impose quarantines and more restrictive measures to try to contain the spread of the virus.
