US registers 22 million unemployed

In the last month, the US registered 22 million unemployed due to the crisis with the pandemic, representing 13.5% of the country's workforce, similar situation experienced after the financial crisis of 2008. At the moment 20 million workers are applying for unemployment insurance.

The US Department of Commerce said the decline in industrial production was deep and wide when compared to the post-WWII period and the 1929 crisis.

Donald Trump announced measures to try to safely reactivate the economy after May 1, based on data that indicates that the peak of the pandemic is over. In Germany, Italy and Spain also report that they are in preparation for the economic recovery.
